A Sense of the American Piedmont

Rolling pastures, punctuating forests, small rural communities, farm smells and sounds, living waters, and open skies: this is the Sense of the American Piedmont.
I've lived on the Piedmont during much of the past 4 decades. The Piedmont is where you go to find a unique combination of rolling hills, small town cross-roads, plenty of small farms and pastures, and country churches. The Piedmont thrives during all four seasons of the year, and year after year, time seems to stand still. The Piedmont leaves progress and modernity to the big cities to its east.
It is this particular sense of the American Piedmont that I chose to express in my artwork. I hope you enjoy the images. I hope they give you a sense of country peace.
