Summer Pasture, Aldie

Summer is a time of plenty on the Virginia Piedmont. Warm rains feed the native grasses, which, in turn, feed the Piedmont’s cattle and deer. This pastoral scene provides a sense of peace and abundance as the natural elements of sunlight, rain, and earth converge on a hilly pasture where the Civil War Battle of Aldie was fought.
